Sensory Therapy
Sensory Processing
Our Approach
Understanding how your child responds to the world is key in understanding them, their decisions and behaviour. We want to know what your child finds easy as well as what is challenging for them (e.g.: can a child follow visual cues much better than auditory instructions; they may use their hands (fidget) to help pay attention but may dislike tags on clothes).
How does it work?
Understanding your child’s sensory processing preferences can improve our understanding of their best learning modalities, avoid/better manage meltdowns and have your child calm, regulated and better able to interact with the world.
Steps we take.
If your child is presenting with sensory issues, a clinically validated, evidence based Sensory Profile assessment is indicated. From there we can explore options to maximise their strengths and accommodate the challenges to enable regulated home, school and community interactions with aim to help the child feel calm, alert and organised most of the time.
